Dbacks Baseball Camp

During Winter Break Shaun did a Diamondbacks Baseball Camp.

He had such a great time and learned some too! It was a great experience for him (despite the cold weather for 2 of the 3 days).

The Coaches (Coach Jim and Coach Jim) - yes I'm serious. They were both great! The bigger guy used to Coach College baseball at Oklahoma, and is now a high school coach here in the valley. The other Coach Jim is a high school coach too I think. Regardless- they were both great!
Shaun's buddy, Skyler, did the camp too - and it was great to have a friend there. They were the two smallest, but were better skilled than several of their older counterparts.

At the end of camp Shaun had learned ...

better form at throwing and batting

how to run a banana turn to first base

his dad might pelt him in the forehead with a pop fly (so pay attention and get that glove up)

that he can run to first base in 4.6 seconds

and to stay in school and don't do drugs.

All in all - a great time!

The coach said Shaun has a great arm and batting form for his age.

The coach also said he was a great listener, very "coachable", and just may have a career in baseball in front of him (I think "career" meaning could play in high school if he wanted). He should have immediately tried to sell us something at this point because we were a couple of beaming parents, counting our retirement checks (j/k). We are just glad he was having fun.
