Resolution 2010 - Update

A few posts back I made a "resolution" of sorts to "de-clutter" our lives, and try to live with "less" this year.

I made a list of some really simple little first 4 steps to start the year off and I'm happy to say I have finished 3 of the 4 already! And it is only Jan. 11th!


Step 1 - quit the gym.
I have quit the Gym! (since there is a 30 day notice required we can still go through the end of Feb., but the paperwork is done and signed). I also successfully worked out at home 3 days last week in place of it. That, combined with having starte counting WW points again - resulted in a 2 lb. weight loss last week. Not as much as I'd like the 1st week -but better than nothing!


Step 2 - get rid of the easy stuff (low hanging fruit of the clutter)
I cleaned out the easy stuff, and sold it at our neighbor's garage sale.

Step 3 - Give the crib to someone.
I found a home for our crib and changing table. A wonderfuly, deserving daughter to my neighbor's friend. She is 5 months pregnant in a high risk pregnancy - and it matches the furniture she has already perfectly. They were so grateful and thankful and I'm so happy they have it now!

Step 4 is going to take a while. It is to go through the house in more deep detail. One room at a time, creating keep, donate, toss groups. Then get just the right things to organize what stays. (An excuse to go to my favorite store - The Container Store). Okay - yes, this is adding to the "things", but the goal is to have the right organization tools so that we don't end up in the "clutter" place again!
