I don't often ask for this type of thing out in cyberspace...but I am a strong believer in the power of prayer, and I find myself overwhelmed with my prayer list lately. Figure, it doesn't hurt to ask for those of you lurking out in the net to join in!
1) My beautiful, strong, funny, creative cousin Jenn is deploying to United Arab Emirates in less than a week. She'll be gone 6 1/2 months, leaving behind her wonderful husband, and two adorable kids ages 4 and 1 (almost one anyway). Please - pray for her safety, strength, and that time goes quickly and she's back home where she belongs. We are all so proud of her sacrifice! Especially considering she postponed her own wedding twice while her husband was in Iraq several years ago! Such a giving family! I'm proud to be related!
2) My mother-in-law has a hurt heart. Those of you who know "St. Joan" as you've named her, know it is not a hurt spirit of heart - that is as strong as ever! She'll be having double bypass surgery soon. She is seriously the strongest woman I have ever known, but all your prayers can help! Pray for her husband as well, since we've heard the 6 week recovery period is the tough part.
3) My grandmother has moved into a nursing care center. Those who know of her, know she has battling dementia as well as several physical ailments for years. My grandpa has done an amazing job caring for her every need in recent years, despite the fact that he is battling Alzhiemer's himself. He's responding very well to medications, and despite being 6 years her senior, is fairly healthy otherwise. We've finally convinced my grandfather to let her move there so he has some help in caring for her. I know it is hard for him to be on his own now, and hard for her to be someplace knew. The hardest part could very well be on my mom's shoulders, as she navigates the paper work, doctors instructions, and emotional support from 2000 miles away. My mom and her sisters are so strong, but please, add them to your prayers as they try to support their aging parents, and each other.
We are all so blessed, and I include those listed above, but we all have times that we need a little extra help from above, and these amazing members of my family need it right now. Thanks!

You bet we will be praying for everyone - Jenn (and her family - thanks for all you do for our country), Joan (and Poppy), Grandpa (and your mom and her sisters)! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for St. Joan (or Poppy) .. meals (desserts), watching your kids so you can go over there, etc. We are here just say the word.
You are so sweet Cindy! I'll let you know. I'll be making some meals to take over there soon and I'm sure he'd love some cookies. The surgery is Monday, and she'll be in the hospital for about a week, so I'm not planning on stocking them up until next week some time.
