My friend Cindy gave me a Blog Award. I'm not really sure how these things work, but am told I'm supposed to post it and write 10 things that make me happy!
So, in no particular order ... here goes nothing...

1) Shaun and Ainsley - My kids are simply the most wonderful thing in my life. They make me laugh harder than anything else does. They are beautiful and kind, and innocent, and funny - more so than I could ever have imagined pre-kids, and more so than I'm sure I deserve, but I'll take it!
2) Matt - My husband and my rock. His determination and passion are what attracted me to him, but I never could have imagined his dedication and devotion, his nuturing as a father, and I didn't know he was so creative (and he'll say he's not), but he is! He makes me happy by making me laugh, and because he still loves me despite my many faults!
3) Sports - I love sports. Watching them, playing them, watching my kids play them. I have 2 favorite times of year. One just passed. When College Football Bowl season is going strong and we are about to go into NFL playoffs. The other one is March ... College Basketball March Madness and the start of Spring Training for MLB. Arizona is a great place to live during Spring Training!
4) Mexican Food - I just love it all. Tacos, Burritos, Black Beans, Salsa, Tamales, the Spicier the Better! Again, Arizona is a great place to live for a girl who loves Mexican Food. I would guess I have some variety of Mexican food at least 3 days a week...and I could do more!
5) Family - I don't have a huge family, but I have a close family. I love just hanging out and talking with my mom and dad (when the kids aren't being crazy). I wish my brother lived closer - because I love my sister-in-law - she is so great! (oh, I love him too of course). And I have many cousins. When they visit I am so happy, and when they leave so sad to see them go!
6) My neighborhood - I LOVE my neighborhood. I have the best neighbors - they are such a great, and ecclectic bunch of people. HB is possibly the nicest, most generous of spirit person I've ever met! TDix is so down to earth and so fun...I swear her motto is don't worry, be happy! She is determined to have a good time - full of positivity and will not let anything derail her. There are many more, too many to list...but you get the point.
7) Pie - Any kind, Every kind, Just Pie. I'm not a cake person, don't much care for chocolate bars or cookies - Give me Pie and I am a very happy camper! Great - now I'm craving Pie!
8) Games - I love to play games. Uno, Bunko, Monopoly, Hungry Hippos, Poker - you name it, I'm up for it. My husband doesn't get this quality in me...But I love games. I grew up in MN and for many months you just don't go outside much - so we played games. Oooh - and puzzles too, gotta love puzzles.
9) Cooking - I love to cook (not bake, I suck at baking). I'm not sure where I got the love for this, but I just do. I read cook books like novels. My favorite is my Top Chef cookbook. It's awesome! I recently saw the movie Julie and Julia and I'd LOVE to do that. Just take some great cookbook and work my way through it making every recipe in there, even the ones that sound disgusting - and force myself to try it.
10) TV - I know I shouldn't admit it because smart, good people should not say TV makes them happy - but I'm being honest here - it does. At the end of the day, when all the work is done, kids in bed, house fairly clean...it relaxes me to sit and veg out and watch tv. I like to escape into other people's lives (be they "reality" or be they "drama" or be they "comedy") for a while. I like the challenge of figuring out the story in a suspense show like CSI or Lost, I like the voyeurism of being a fly on the wall of a show like Survivor, and I like being entertained by the silliness and sometimes talent shown on a show like American Idol. Of course I love cooking shows like Iron Chef and Top Chef. I even occasionally can be caught watching Man vs. Wild with Matt. I'm all over the board - but it makes me happy to escape (and I think if you're honest a lot of other people like it too!)
Okay - that's it - for the world to see...10 things that make little ol' me happy.
