They have a carousel too, a great playground, and lots of famous Characters walking around to give hugs and take pictures with. Our kids are more the huggers than the picture takers...but they sure had fun. Here's a few snaps though.
We weren't sure how Ainsley would be with Santa - but figured probably scared. 10 minutes before going to visit Santa we saw Elmo - who she just loves and she screamed and ran behind us...so if that was any indication - we were in for some tears.
My parents came with us and we had so much fun watching the kids enjoy it. On the train, right before we got to Santa the kids starting getting more nervous and like clockwork - outside the window was my dad - waving to them. He had no idea, but the distraction totally saved us at the right time. My kiddies just love their Neena Pat and Papa Jerry!
I said it last year - and I'll say it again - the train park Santa is so AWESOME! He is so great with the kids. Funny and warm and lot's of tricks in his pocket to bring them out of their scared shyness. At the end Ainsley ran back in to his room to hug him goodbye even! I started tearing up at that! They both asked for what they wanted. Ainsley happily asked for something I've already got her, Shaun of course asked for 2 things we did not get him. Ugh. I feel a shopping trip in my future. Santa even made Shaun promise to give his daddy a back scratch. ;-) Nice!
The picture doesn't show it - but they just loved him. I love this right of passage...so sweet.
(Oh - and do you like Shaun's fat lip?)
We finished the night with a bit of a meltdown as we left. Ainsley because she didn't want to leave without another ride on the carousel, which at this point had about a 45 minute wait! Shaun because he wanted an ice cream cone. (Yes it was freezing - but he insisted he wanted an ice cream cone). So, being it was a special night - we hit the drive thru at McDonald's and Shaun, Ainsley, and Daddy had Ice Cream Cones on the way home from seeing Santa.
Merry Christmas to all!
