Meltdown...

So the business of Christmas time caught up with us last night and we had a meltdown. Well, Actually - Shaun did.
The other day in school he fell in the classroom and busted his lip open. It is swollen and looks pretty nasty. (Good thing we already did the Christmas photos!) Anyway - We were all set to run out the door after work to go pick out our Christmas tree and Matt told Shaun he needed to put some ointment on his lip.

Shaun LOST it. For some reason decided that was torture and blew up like no tomorrow! It went on for about an hour. Needless to say, we had to postpone the tree hunting trip.

I was kind of mad that I had to miss out on getting a tree, but we are "those" parents who think if you threaten a punishment - you have to follow through no matter what.

So - now we have to try to fit one more thing into our very busy Saturday or Sunday instead... but really - as I told Shaun last night...
It is a blessing we can afford to go get a tree, and presents to put under it, so quit complaining that we are doing it one or two days later and just be thankful we have it at all!
(I still sulked a bit and drowned my sorrows in a small Heath Bar Blizzard after the kids were in bed). ;-)
