Camp Neena - Day 1

I've probably mentioned before that Shaun goes to aftercare on school days - and just loves it. However, on Non-school days that aftercare "camp" is at a different location and has a different mix of teachers/kids...and he hates it. I can't figure out why - other than it just not being his "normal" thing. They do fun stuff and some of the same kids/teachers are there - but he still just doesn't like it.
anyway- we knew we'd be taking most of the Winter Break days off between Matt and I and have him home, but today and tomorrow we couldn't figure out so we were going to send him to Camp. He was dreading it. Well - the Neena's (That's grandma's in our family for those who don't know) came through! He's having Camp Neena Pat today and Camp Neena Joan tomorrow.

He is having so much fun and was so visiably relieved this morning to not be going to regular camp. He's doing art projects, cleaning projects, playing football and baseball, watching a movie (Papa Jerry even took him to lunch at DQ today!). He is loving it and I'm so happy we decided to cave in and let him have these days off. He's always been a daycare kid with 2 working parents and I hate how many hours we are away from the kids - so this is a special couple of days indeed.
