We always go up north to Matt's parents' cabin over 4th of July. It is nice to get out of the heat and the small town parade and party is so fun for the kids!
Well - this year Neena Joan and Poppy Bob asked if they could bring the kids up with them on Sunday (today), even though Matt and I won't be up there until Friday. 5 days without mommy and daddy, 5 days of fun activities planned by the grandparents. Including golf, park time, a trip to the movie theater, and a trip to the Grand Canyon to visit Auntie Jo!
They are SO excited! I kind of think Neena and Poppy are crazy - but they swear they are excited too!
What amazing memories the kids will have of this time with them. I have said it before - but I'll say it again - I've got the best in-laws for sure!
Oh - and did you figure out yet that this means Matt and I get 5 days kid free!? I mean, I love my kids, and I'm sure I'll miss them after a couple days - but WOW - how special for Matt and I to get a break and some time with just each other. What will we do with all our free time!?
