Ainsley had her dance recital this past weekend. More accurately she had 3 of them...a dress rehersal, Saturday Night, and Sunday Matinee. Boy did she love it - and she did GREAT!
She was a little nervous back stage...wondering how big the stage was and if she might fall off. Then there were the questions of how many people might see her, etc... Normal 1st performance ever nerves.
But man did she work it out! She got out there and did her thing without hesitation in front of all those people and LOVED it. On our way home from the 1st day she said "Today is my Best Day Ever"!
She had fun with her dance class buddies back stage. She adored being allowed to wear make-up.

She also liked seeing the other dance classes costumes. She really liked our family friend Kaitlin's hip hop outfit!
On stage she was sooooooo cute! She remembered all her steps and kept on time pretty well!
Her class was by far the cutest of the 'little ones' and got a HUGE round of applause with their sassiness!
She even liked going out for the finale with ALL the other dancers and taking a final bow.
Daddy and Shaun gave her flowers afterwards and she rewarded her fans with some picture opportunities!
I am lost in this "dance world", but she was right at home with it. Seeing the joy on her face throughout the weekend and in every part of it was so worth it.
She did tell me after we were done taking off the makeup on Sunday night though...."Sign me up for soccer mommy! I'll try that now!"
However, I have a sneaking feeling we'll be back to dance eventually....
