Late Weekend Recap

There have been other priorities for the blog the past couple days, but better late than never with the weekend recap.
We had a very fun weekend...but the best part was Saturday.

Shaun and Daddy went to Monster Jam (monster truck show) with Shaun's best buddies from his old daycare and their daddies. Evan, Skyler, and Shaun have been buds since they were 18 months old, and they still LOVE hanging out together when they get the chance even though they are all at different Kindergarten's now.

They liked the show (although Shaun hated the loud-ness of it), but Matt says they seemed to love the ride in the truck there and home best of all.
I never thought about it, but I guess they never really get to ride in the same car together - so that was fun to them. Either way - they had a blast together.

So, since the boys had plans, I decided Ainsley and I need to have a Girls Night Out...just the 2 of us. We had sooooo much fun. Ainsley said about 13 times "Mommy this is really fun." I think she just loved being the center and having all my attention to herself. She was just so cute and so fun the entire night I kept pinching myself. I was overflowing with love for her. I know that is cheesy to say that way - but I really was.

We started with a little shopping...trying on hats, looking at toys, etc...

Ainsley had "Cottrell Coins" (good behavior rewards) saved up and bought herself a new dolly. She is funky and cute with her bright pink hair and when I asked Ainsley her name, without skipping a beat she said "Flyer". Flyer? "Yes, mommy, Flyer". (okay then)

We had a little time before our special appointment, so we got some cookies and chocolate milk and watched the water fountain by the fireplace at the outdoor mall we were at.

Then, it was time for our special appointment. We went to As You Wish, a pottery painting store. I wasn't sure how long she'd last, but she just LOVED it. We had several people stop by our table saying how amazed they were by her and how she was doing for her age. (Not the artistic ability, just that she was sitting and doing it so long, and wasn't covered in paint.) She picked a puppy to paint and insisted on Pink for the color.

She later added blue dots (that look more like rain drops)...but it was important to me that this be her masterpiece - so I did not help...she could do whatever she wanted. I painted a frame so that she can have a picture of our special night together in her room. She kept telling me "Mommy, you are doing a very good job".

So, once we were done she picked our place for dinner...Fatburger! The girl loves Cheeseburgers! So we had a couple BabyFat's and shared some skinny fries. It was an amazing night with my amazing girl, and I can't wait to do it again sometime!

Oh, I am so jealous! It looks like your time together was amazing! You've inspired me to do a couple dates with my boys-one on one! Thanks for the idea!
