So, I called Shaun's teacher with every intention of setting up a serious sit down meeting to discuss recent events with her. First on my list was to see if we could move his seat away from a certain child we have learned has been in trouble every single time Shaun has been in trouble. (coincidence? I think not.) We'll call him Child-L.
...btw -I'm not saying it's the other kid's fault - but obviously they two of them together is not working well.
Matt is smart and points out that Shaun will encounter this in life and he needs to behave no matter who he is by. I agree -and that is what we tell Shaun, but what is the overall goal here - and what is the quickest way from point a to point b? Separation maybe?
Anyway - Shaun beat me to the punch! When I called Mrs. C last night I find out my brave, smart little boy walked up to her in the morning and asked to be moved because he is getting in trouble too much with Child-L. Mrs. C obliged and Child-L got a new seat and Shaun got a new neighbor.
And what do you know - he had a GREAT day! Today is day 2 - so cross your fingers!

So cute he took care of the issue himself! Those little cuties are so observant-you never know when they are listening to your conversation! Love it!
Yes - this time the "listening" to our conversation worked out for the good - I'm sure there will be other times he repeats our conversations and it is very NOT good. Yikes!
I hope this solves the problem. Kudos to Shaun for deciding on the change himself. I meant to comment yesterday - that yes if you don't make your day the parent has to sign a note - trust me we have been there! I think the teacher needs to be a little more on top of it. And Chatty's ex-friend X had Step 4 today - call home to the parent! Maybe L and X are related!
