It's never a good sign when you pull up to the elementary school to pick up your son, and there are 5 police cars in the parking lot and a helicopter hovering overhead.

It's worse when you walk up to the door and it is locked and there is a sign saying all the children at the after care club are on the playground.

It's even worse still when you pull around to said playground and find that all of the children, including your son, are sitting at the furthest most spot on the entire playground lined up against the baseball field backstop and they are all eerily quiet.

Turns out there was a bomb threat called in to the school yesterday. (Who calls in a bomb threat to an elementary school people?)
Luckily it happened so close to the time that I picked him up that they hadn't gotten to my name yet as they were calling parents. I would have freaked out had I still be 45 minutes away at work and got that call! (everyone watch out for the crazy lady in the minivan driving 110mph down the highway!)

All was fine as far as I know. But then again, I can't find any info on it anywhere.
Shaun was told, when evacuated, that there were some "bad teenagers who said some bad words" and he had to be moved out of the school. I don't know how that made sense, but he didn't question it and I didn't tell him otherwise. I didn't want to scare him to go back to school, but I can say that I honestly was a little nervous sending him off this morning.

Ugh - seriously - who calls in a bomb threat to an elementary school?
