Settling in

Our newest addition to the family, Kelly the dog, is settling in quite nicely.  She is so sweet, cuddly (even at 70lbs!), and playful.

The kids ADORE her - and she ADORES them.  She can't wait for them to get home from school/camp each day.  Once they get home they play together non-stop until dinner is ready.  Then after dinner they play again.  They all love the walks we go on each night.  (I am partial to the morning walk I get to take her on all by myself.)

She is a great office companion for me too.  She follows me all around the house any time I move or get up.  She just LOVES to be with her people.  She has loved every person she has met in the neighborhood so far too.  She has already learned where her bed is, what the routine is for the day, etc...

The only things we need so do more training on is pulling on the leash when we walk (she is SO strong), and nipping when we play.  She doesn't really bite - she just likes to nip if we start to play rougher/aggressively.  She has never bit down or anything like that - nothing dangerous or hurtful - just playful and we need to break her of that.  She stops as soon as you say no, but still...not a good habit to get into.

No Accidents, no messes, no tearing up socks or shoes or garbage or anything.  And I've only heard her bark once!  It was at something outside the house out the window - maybe a bunny or something?  It was gone by the time I could look.

We LOVE Kelly and I think she digs us too!
