Ainsley's pre-school had their Chuck E. Cheese fundraiser night last night.
If you have kids - you know about this. Many schools, daycares, and other organizations sign up with places like this to do a fundraiser night. Basically, the school encourages all family's and friends to come in, order stuff and say you are with them. All the money spent under their name is added up through the night and they get like 10% of that back.
I've never thought these things could possible raise that much money. We spent nearly $40 dollars, 10% of that is just $4 for the school. If half of the families at our pre-school of 80 or so came (which is a stretch I think) and spent that same amount, that is only $160. That's not much in my eyes - but I suppose it requires minimal effort from the school - so why not.
Anyway - We did this once with Shaun for his pre-school night years ago. Then again for a birthday party, then he wanted HIS party there for his 4th b-day, then his Kindergarten had a fundraiser there early this year as well.
At this point - we all were ready to kill Chuck E. Cheese. It's a cool place I guess for kids - but bad overpriced pizza, chaos of kids running everywhere, those dumb tickets that your kids jones for where like 100,000 of them buy an eraser, and germs, germs and more germs....Not a parents' dream!
So, when Ainsley came home last week with a notice of their Fundraiser night - we really did not want to, nor plan on going. but then this sweet little face lit up with excitement and said - "...are we going mommy? Can we go daddy? It's Chuck E.'s house you know - he sleeps there - and he's going to cook us pizza! Isn't that great!?"
Well - we caved. We decided it was only fair to take her for one of these, since we had done so many for Shaun.
I'm glad we went. She was so happy, so excited and it was so fun to see her playing with her friends from school.

However, I think it will be our Farewell Tour...so Long Chuck E! It's been real!
