Yes - the rumors are true - she's infected her brother.
I guess I should have believed his stay home cries as more credible, because after school he felt awful, had a fever, and missed baseball practice anyway. Poor little man.
They both still had a slight fever this morning, so I stayed home with them. Ainsley turned out pretty much fine the rest of the day - so I think she just needed that one more day off and will be fine tomorrow to go back to the institution.
Shaun, on the other hand, reacted very well to ibuprofen (too well - too much energy), but once it wore off, the fever came back. Still pretty low compared to how bad Ainsley got at the worst of it though - so I think we are in for a few days more of this with him.
It has been a long time since I've had an entire full day with 2 sick kids at home with me. I don't know how SAHM's do it every day with multiple kids around all day. I love my beatles with all my heart, but a 5 and 3 year old know how to press your buttons - that's for sure. And of course right now, what A loves to do, S doesn't - whether it's an age thing or a gender thing, or just personalities - they are pretty opposite lately in preferences. So keeping them both entertained all day - yet not letting them get so active that they wear their sick little bodies out too much - yeah - Challenging!!!
On Demand movie - Hotel for Dogs (Shaun loved, Ainsley whined all the way through asking to watch Strawberry Shortcake instead - finally calmed down and played dollhouse with me)
Playdough - Shaun 15 minutes, Ainsley 5 minutes, then run around and take clothes off.
iCarly - both watch 30 minutes and I got some Sneaky Chef puree's cooking.
"helped me" cook and bag purees (big mess!)
coloring
cutting/pasting magazines
Making Halloween Collages "for daddy", no I want mine for me, I'll just show daddy. ;-)
snacks
Memory board game
Zingo (like Bingo)
DollHouse
Dress up in our halloween costumes
Dress up in our leotard and tights (Ainsley, not Shaun - Shaun was still Darth Vader at this time)
Lunch
Naps (yea, right - Shaun watched Air bud in his room on the portable dvd player and Ainsley coughed in her bed for 45 minutes and finally I let them both get up)
More board games
Strawberry Shortcake Video
Painting (Shaun for 45 minutes, Ainsley for 5 minutes, then run off to play dolls, then back, then off, then back, then off)
Shaun watch Star Wars Clone Wars and dress up as Darth Vader again, then Luke Skywalker (though I'm not sure why since he's not a part of Clone Wars I don't think)
Ainsley and I do big foam U.S. Map puzzle (she throws fit that I'm doing too much of it.) Bad mommy!
Found Cailou on freezone of on demand! Yes - we love Cailou when nothing else works. Thank God for one bald headed whiney little cartoon boy. (I'm punch drunk at this point).
Ainsley - bubble bath (girl after my own heart)
Mommy can blog! Oops - Bath done - gotta go find something esle to kill 1 more hour before daddy comes home and saves us all from crazy mommy!
I love parenthood - it so nicely exposes all my faults and makes me appreciate other parents, my parents, so much!
