Making lemonade.

Ever hear that term...when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!?
We'll we are doing it today!

We were supposed to go meet a huge team of volunteers at our baseball league's "Field Day" this morning to get one of the main fields we play on in tip top shape. Groom the infield, build the pitching mounds, etc... Turned out about half the people we thought would show decided the little bity showers that were starting meant they should stay home.
No worries because the boys from our team (and Ainsley) that came with their dad's loved to help. Never seen 6-7 yr old shovel so much dirt in the rain and have such fun! I learn every time something like this happens that you have take the lead from the kids sometimes and just roll with it.

Then we were supposed to have our flag football game...as long as the fields weren't flooded. Well - they weren't, but about half way through the sky opened up and the temperature dropped about 20 degrees in an instant. Though us parents were cold and wet - we watched those tough boys finish their game with gusto and a 18-7 win - so we did the tunnel for both teams (since the other team's parents were whimpies) and cheered them on!

Finally - we were supposed to cheer on our Cat's tonight with our good friends the Donatelli's, but alas, their little one came down sick. We'll miss seeing our friends terribly and the kids were quite sad - but when daddy suggested maybe we'd go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game - they were excited and yet again - just rolled with it.

So - as it pours outside and we all snuggle up in our sweats watching Spongebob until it's time to go watch the game - I'm learning and thinking I need to remember today more often, that I can't control everything, and sometimes I need to just roll with it!
