There have been so many snow days on the east coast this winter it's crazy!
I'm very tuned into it because (a) I work for a company primarily based EST and most of the office are closed when the schools are for huge amounts of snow, and (b) I grew up in Minnesota where as a kid you prayed to hear your school's name on the scratchy a.m. radio broadcast in the morning ... and never did!
See, in Minnesota you embrace the snow - you are a hard a** and you grin and bear it. Not like these NY and D.C. whimps who shut down over 7 measly inches. ;-)
The only snow day I remember actually getting when I was in school was because the pipes at our school burst for freezing temps - not for actual snow. At that point - it's too cold to snow anyway.
So - here I sit again ... 20+ years later, and I wait to hear of the snow day announcements. Only this time, instead of scratchy a.m. radio, I wait for an email from our owner to see which offices will be closed, or have delayed starts - so I know which client services teams will be frantically asking me to do things for them because they can't reach the servers, etc and need things run - and I sit in sunny, non-snow day, Arizona! ;-)
Anyone know how I could freeze my pipes in 72 degree weather?
