For New Years Eve we celebrated with our awesome neighbors Heather and Lizzie.

They joined us in an old Elliott family tradition of Fondue-ing. It was fun to introduce someone to it for the first time. While Lizzie wasn't so sure of putting her hand near hot buring oil at first - she got totally into it by the end...Especially the Chocolate Fondue for dessert!

Shaun loves this tradition and ate his weight in hot dogs, chicken, steak, and bread/Cheese!

This was Ainsley's first time doing it herself and she did GREAT! She only ventured as far as the hot dogs and the bread/cheese, but she loved those!
Oh - and of course the dessert chocolate fondue was enjoyed by all!

Here you can see the resulting Fondue Carnage...3 pots of oil, 1 pot of cheese, 2 loaves of bread and lots of meat later...

The bread basket is empty, the meat almost gone, many sauces/dips tried and enjoyed....veggie tray - - - barely touched! ;-)
After dinner we had a fireworks show.
Fireworks, at least the smaller ones, just became legal in Arizona for the first time, so Matt thought we'd add this to our New Years Eve celebration.
The sparklers and "pop-its" were the biggest hit with the kids.

Except Ainsley was scared of them all and stuck to her good, old fashioned noise maker instead.

It was VERY cold out (for us Arizonan's) and Matt nearly froze his hands off lighting and setting the firework show in the street.

...but he did a great job!
We had a great time - thanks Heather and Lizzie for helping us say good-bye to 2010 and welcome in 2011 family style!
To all of our family and friends out there - we wish you all the best in the New Year!!!
