Lunch Date

I had the best lunch date today! I brought lunch up to Shaun and ate with him at school today.

First of all - you should know - Shaun's lunch period is the at 10:45! Who has lunch period at 10:45?! Shaun does, that's who!

So, I headed over to McD's at 10:20 in order to get there and over to school in time and was told they don't serve anything but breakfast until 10:30. So - I rushed to Jack in the Box across the street, crossing my fingers, and managed to make it work.

After that it all went smooth and it was so fun! I definitely recommend lunching with three 6 yr old boys sometime if you get the chance. Shaun loved it, I loved it, and his friends seemed to like it too. One tried to impress me with his burping of the alphabet (no, I'm not kidding), another engaged in a great conversation about the Yankees and how great they are and how he and Shaun are both going to wear their Yankees jersey tomorrow.

One big surprise was me getting hit on by a lunch-aide. Didn't expect that one - but good to know I still got it. Although, I'm guessing he might do that to all the mom's who lunch there. After he told Shaun he was a lucky boy to have me as his mom, Shaun's friend Tyler asked me if I was single. I wonder how many extra Chocolate Milk's the aide passes Tyler to be his wing man?

So, between the burping educational tips, the MLB talk, the junk food lunch scarfed down in 15 minutes, and the lunch aide advances - I'd say that was the most exciting lunch date I've had in years! Thanks Shaun!
