We got an email from Shaun's baseball coach on Monday, telling us that at this level we've moved up to, the league requires the kids to wear sliding shorts and cups. I didn't even realize they made cups for 6 yr olds, but alas, they do. (after searching 4 stores and some strange looks from some guys as I stood bewildered in the athletic supporter aisle).
So, I was positive when we told Shaun about it he'd hate it, throw a fit and we'd be done with baseball. Afterall - this is the kid who blows up at the thought of wearing anything other than basketball shorts, even in the dead of winter.
Shows what mommy knows. He tied them on and was fine, thought the shorts were cool and said - well, this is REAL baseball now mom!
(Here's where I need a collective blogging "knock on wood" that it goes this well when he wears them for the game on Saturday.)
