Family pride....

If you know me, you probably know a source of family pride is my Cousin Jenn and her husband who have sacrificed much to serve our country. Traver did a year in Iraq several years ago (forcing them to postpone their wedding - twice!). Jenn recently deployed to UAE for 6 months leaving Traver at home on his own with their 4 yr old daughter, Reganne and their 1 yr old son, Payton.

As if juggling that isn't enough - there is flooding in ND (where they live) and Traver's reserve unit was called to help. So, he called some family and friends to help with the kids and off he went.

He was surprised recently with a much deserved promotion while there helping with the flood prevention efforts.

Below is a video of that promotion and I just felt had to share.

Of course I feel personal pride in that they are such cool people and I am lucky enough to share a family with them. But also - I don't think enough is said or done to honor the efforts, big and small, that our service men and women give every day.

Thank you for sharing the video. I had not seen that yet. Touches my heart how humble my bro-n-law is and how brave my family is. Thanks

I just got a chance to watch it! First off thank you for the post Laurie and I couldn't agree with you more that we don't thank our service men and women enough! Thank you Trevor and Jenn and their kids for all they give to our country! And congrats on the promotion to Master Sergeant!
