So, I just finished my 17th of 18 Boot Camp classes this morning.
One more day of rising at 4:25, quickly brushing teeth, slapping on work out clothes, shoving in contacts and running out the door to make my 5:00am class.
One more day of doing things that my brain thinks I should have no problem doing - because after all, I'm an athlete - a soccer player...all my life.
One more day of having my body quickly tell me that the last time I worked out reguarly as an "athlete" for the sake of soccer, or otherwise, was over 15 years ago.
I started so badly that I am embarassed to share with you my starting stats for # of sit-ups in 1 minute, # of push-ups in 1 minute, and the time for the 1.5 mile run. I was very humbled!
But - I am proud to say that when we retested half way through I shaved 2 minutes off my run, tripled my situps, and doubled my push-ups.
I was hoping I would drop more weight during this process, but early on my goals changed. It became less about size or weight or looks, and more about feeling strong, fit, and capable. And I can honestly say I acheived those goals. I've enjoyed it so much that I'm actually agreeing to continue getting up crazy early and do our own little bootcamp at home with Matt using all I've learned.
I've also decided to join the adult soccer league at the indoor arena when the next season starts.
(If I can get on a team that has games on a night we have free from other obligations).
So - on Friday morning, at 5:00am - while you sleep restfully - send me your positive thoughts and dreams that I kill my final test and increase those stats even more.
