Life lately has been crazy!
Take working full time - which recently has meant starting at 6am despite breaks for activities and family time, not fully putting the computer away until 10pm several nights.
Ugh...
Then add a "volunteer" job with the baseball board that has grown exponentially in the short 4 months I've been a part of it.
Mix in wrapping up the Spring Baseball season for Shaun, with Matt coaching and me as team mom....All Star's State tourney starting...dance classes for Ainsley gearing up for her recital....2 business trips for Matt...."behavior issue" notes home from school for Shaun....Turning out of a parking spot and bashing my van into a nice big ol' pole....
...and I can't believe I have time to eat or think lately - but we are managing.
I've been feeling overwhelmed, and emotional, and stressed lately and I realize I may have taken on too much in my life. We've been fighting through some parenting solutions for Shaun as he is in a difficult "controling" stage. Love that kid - but would have sold him (and cheap) several times the past couple weeks! It's so draining - yet so important to keep working, keep loving, keep trying to guide him through it.
So, tonight, while Matt is in San Fran on business, I picked up the kids and took them to DQ! Dessert BEFORE dinner!
Then we went home and ate our favs for dinner and watch a movie together.
Little moments make a big difference to them (and to me).
So - this post is a little random and all over the place - but that is life lately -- at least here in the Cottrell Household.

Laurie you are doing an awesome job ... I am always amazed by how much you take on and how well you handle it all!! Keep taking deep breaths and try to enjoy the moments! BTW - there have been many times in the past month I would have sold Chatty really cheap!
Maybe we could offer a 2 for 1 deal? j/k....;-)
