We did our annual trip to visit Santa last night at the train park in Scottsdale.
It was so much fun for all of us. The kids had a blast and so did we.
However, I think Santa thinks we are the meanest parents ever!
Yesterday afternoon, Shaun was being very bad, continuing his streak of nasty behavior he has had in the last couple weeks. His mouth has decided he's teenager and he talks back something fierce, he was mean to his friends and his sister yesterday as well. So, we decided we were not going to let him go to see Santa.
He begged us to go and we finally decided that if he wrote a serious apology letter to Santa and brought it to him, we'd let him go.
He was embarrassed, but he wrote a great note, brought it and handed it to Santa when we walked in. He told Santa to read it later - at the North Pole, but Santa decided to read it now instead...Out Loud...In front of all of us and his helpers. Yikes!
I was proud that Shaun held it together and didn't get upset. He took responsibility for his behavior and Santa told him if he worked really hard from now on, it would be okay.
I'm pretty sure Santa and his helpers thought we were mean to make him bring such a note though!
