Quick little post today about my little Landon Donovan!
(ahhh. Landon Donovan...nice.. Oh - um I'm sorry - back to the post).
Shaun begged me to wear my Samba's (indoor soccer shoes to those who aren't fluent in Futbol speak) to his practice today. He said they were 'good luck' to him. Strange -how can shoes I wear be good luck to Him?
Well - he was right. We are usually rushing to make it in the door with 5 minutes to get his shinguards and shoes on, but today we were 20 minutes early and got to play just me and him for a long time. He thought that was awesome! (I did too!)
Then, at the end of practice his coach pulls me aside and asks if Shaun would like to play up to the next age group (u8) the rest of the season in addition to his u6 advanced team. He says he thinks he's totally ready and the u8 coach asked about him the other day. ;-)
Shaun is SOOOOO excited and I'm one proud mama.
It shouldn't matter that because it is "my" sport that I'm more excited, but I think I kind of am.
I'm sure Soccer will be back out the door when baseball season starts up again -but I'm going to relish it for now!
And....the moral of this story is - Samba's are cool -AND lucky!
